About Kylie Wainwright & Associates

Our clinic has been established for over 10 years, but many of us have been in private practice for longer. We have a team of 9 highly skilled psychologists, including 3 who are recognised as specialist Clinical Psychologists with Medicare (with an additional psychologist undertaking her clinical registrar program).  All of our psychologists are registered to provide services under Medicare. It is important that our clients can trust and feel comfortable with their psychologist.  We pride ourselves on providing experienced and caring psychologists who will be sensitive to your needs and treat you with respect.

We have a friendly and reliable administration team of 4 lovely ladies, who always make you feel very welcome and can help with any enquiries.

Dr Kylie Wainwright, Clinical Psychologist

Dr Kylie Wainwright is a Clinical Psychologist and Director of the clinic.  She has a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and been a psychologist now for 20 years.   Kylie has been working in private practice to some extent for over 15 years, but has also worked in public mental health settings including community clinics, hospital in-patient and out-patient clinics and with Juvenile Justice clients.  She has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and adults.  Kylie can work with clients presenting with a variety of problems including depression, anxiety disorders, grief and loss, body image and eating issues, social difficulties, and child behavioural problems.  Kylie uses a variety of evidence-based techniques in her therapeutic approach including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).   

Jandi Crocker, Clinical Psychologist
Bachelor Behavioural Sciences (Hons), Masters in Clinical Psychology

Jandi is a Clinical Psychologist who has experience working with children, adolescents and adults.  She has been working in private practice and also in school settings.   Jandi has a special interest in childhood anxiety and child behaviour problems, including ADHD. She uses a variety of approaches and techniques in her work, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, play therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.   Jandi is particularly skilled at engaging with difficult or resistant young people. 


Jenny Lindros, Psychologist
Bachelor Education, Graduate Diploma in Family Therapy, Masters in Psychology (Educational and Developmental), Member of the Australian Psychological Society

Jenny has extensive experience working with students of all ages and their families. She specialises in assessing and counselling school aged children from 4-18 years, as well as providing counselling to parents and other adults presenting with a variety of mental health issues including depression and anxiety. Jenny has a special interest in family therapy, parenting concerns, and managing challenging behaviours. She also provides hypnosis for children to overcome fears and phobias and can assess children for Autism, ADHD, and other concerns.

Danielle Atherton, Psychologist

​Dani has been a registered psychologist for over 10 years, and has worked in private practice for much of her career.  She specialises in young adults and relationship counselling, but can work with clients of varying ages.  Dani also has experience working with a number of issues including: anxiety, stress, depression, grief, trauma, bullying, substance use, low self-esteem and confidence.  Dani uses a variety of therapeutic approaches in her work with clients, including CBT and ACT.  She has completed her Masters of Arts on bullying in schools, and has nearly finished her PhD on bullying interventions at RMIT. 

Joanne Burch
Bachelor of Arts (Psychology), Post Graduate Diploma in Psychology, Masters of Professional Psychology, Member of the Australian Psychological Society.

​Joanne Burch is a registered psychologist who enjoys specialising in child and adolescent wellbeing and mental health.  She is passionate about helping young people successfully navigate through the numerous developmental, emotional and social challenges they face.  Jo uses practical, evidence-based therapeutic strategies to build resilience and empower young people.  Jo has worked at both primary and secondary schools in the local area, as well as with adults in the CBD.  Jo is skilled at assisting all her clients to cope with and manage a range of difficulties that may adversely impact on their emotional, psychological and social well-being.  This includes issues such as: anxiety, eating disorders/body image, family issues, and depression.  Jo primarily uses CBT and ACT in her work, however, also uses her pet therapy dog – a Golder Retriever named Ralphy.

Dr Karen Perrin

Karen is a registered psychologist who has been working in private practice. She has experience working with children and adults. Karen can work with clients presenting with a variety of issues including anxiety, stress, low self-esteem and confidence, and depression.

​Karen employs a variety of therapeutic approaches in her work with clients, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and mindfulness.   

Lauren Pennacchia

Lauren is a registered psychologist who has worked in a range of mental health settings, including Monash Children’s Hospital, Parkville Juvenile Detention Centre, secondary schools and private practice.   Lauren works primarily with children, adolescents and young adults and employs evidence based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. 

​Lauren utilises a warm, empathic and strengths based approach in her work.  She has also been a mentor for young people through her volunteer work. Lauren is currently undertaking her Clinical Psychology registrar program.

Dr Melissa Stephens, Psychologist
Bachelor of Science, Post-Graduate Diploma of Psychology (Clinical), Doctor of Psychology (Clinical Neuropsychology); Member of the Australian Psychological Society, Fellow of the College of Clinical Neuropsychologists

​Melissa has a Doctor of Psychology and over 20 years’ experience working with individuals across all ages. Melissa has been working in private practice for 14 years, predominantly with TAC and Workcover clients. Melissa is also a Consultant Psychologist with Pearson Clinical Assessment and is a Board-Approved Supervisor. Melissa continues to lecture within post-graduate psychology degrees and has published research and books in the field of sleep disorders. Melissa enjoys working with individuals presenting with a variety of mental health concerns including anxiety, depression, and stress. Melissa takes a holistic approach in her therapy, focussing on all aspects of wellbeing, including sleep and general health, and incorporates a range of therapy practices, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness. Melissa believes in positive change via education, understanding, insight, and goal-setting.
